GGI advances to Round 4 of DnD Challenge

FEBRUARY 22, 2022 – The Department of National Defence recently announced three contribution agreements with Canadian innovators to develop solutions to provide integrated energy, water and waste management systems for relocatable temporary camps (RTC) used by the Canadian Armed Forces. Growing Greener Innovations is one of those innovators, working with SNC-Lavalin on an Integrated Utility Management System.

Each contribution agreement is valued at $1.5 million, for a total of $4.5 million. These agreements are funded through the Innovation for Defence Excellence and Security (IDEaS) program and are the result of the IDEaS program Pop Up City contest call. All three teams have now moved on to the fourth round of the contest where they will develop a testable prototype of their integrated solution and compete for the final grand prize of $2 million.

Congratulations to the other winners: Terragon Environmental Technologies Inc.’s Autonomous Resilient Community Systems (ARCS) and Innocorps Research Corporation’s Circular City.

Read the official press release for more information or visit the IDEaS website for more information on the program.
